Welcome to the Ashland Area Amateur Radio Club

Who are we? 

The Ashland Area Amateur Radio Club (AAARC) is comprised of Amateur Radio Operators that reside in and around Ashland County with the common interest of communications. This is a very broad subject, some specialize in emergency planning and events, contesting, earth- moon- earth, Slow scan TV, Satellites, Simplex, Morse Code, and more!
Meeting information
We meet the 2nd Tuesday of every month at the Ashland County Emergency Management Office, located at 110 Cottage Street Ashland OH, 44805 on the 2nd level at 7:30pm EST.
We also meet for breakfast at Buehlers the 3rd Saturday of every month at 8:00AM in Ashland.
Both meetings are informal and open to the public! Bring thoughts, comments, questions, family, and friends to join!​

2026 Skywarn will be hosted the Ashland County EMA
When: April 14th, 2026 at 600pm until 800pm
Where: Ashland County Sheriff's Office Annex Room

The AAARC is putting together a gun raffle to raise money for radio equipment and  other items for the club needs. 

Tickets are $10 each or 6 for $50

Special Operations

Skywarn
​Skywarn is a vast network of weather spotters that are trained by the National Weather Service directly. These persons are average citizens with a desire to learn about weather and know how to report it accurately to the National Weather Forecast Office. Check out our "Things we do" page for more info. 
Amateur Radio Emergency Services
ARES is a volunteer organization that is supported and generated by the ARRL. These members go through a basic training by FEMA with the intention of being deployable to their own and surrounding communities if disaster strikes. Check out our "Things we do" page for more info
